The impending return of Mulder and Scully has piqued the interest of UK online shoppers as eBay sees more than 200 pieces of X-Files merchandise sell per day.

Tracking the sales of popular television reboots over the past three months, the sci-fi series has topped the list selling on average nearly ten X-Files items an hour.

Meanwhile, and currently celebrating its 50th anniversary, Thunderbirds ranks a close second, selling more than 100 pieces of memorabilia per day via the online marketplace.

The Clangers, Twin Peaks and The Wombles take third, fourth and fifth spots in the top five TV remake properties respectively.

There are currently more than 5000 live X-Files listing on eBay, including a signed photograph by the show’s creator Chris Carter and Gillian Anderson (Agent Scully) for nearly £200.
